Custom Sized Mattresses
If you require a mattress size that doesn't appear in our mattress or European mattress section, then Bedstar offer a service of making custom sized mattresses. Our custom mattresses are made by one of the UK's leading bed manufacturers, and are available from 2FT x 5FT, up to 8FT by 8FT, and will fit any bed we supply for example sealy beds
So why exactly would anybody need a custom sized mattress you ask? Most caravans, boats, motor homes and camper vans do not have the space for a normal sized bed, and therefore come with a custom sized bedstead and mattress. Whether the mattress has worn down over time, or maybe you just don't like the feel of it, when the time comes to replace the mattress you are stuck because of the custom sized bedframe. This is where the custom sized mattress comes in.
As long as the custom sized bedframe is either a square or rectangular shape above 2FT x 5FT, then we can build a mattress to fit. However, due to the springs in the mattress the mattress size goes up in increments of 3" to accommodate the extra springs needed. This means that the mattress will at most be 7.5cm away from the actual size needed, which is only a tiny 3.75cm either side of the mattress.
The custom sized mattresses are available in either Medium or Firm tensions. The medium tension mattress has a 13.5 gauge bonnel spring system whilst the firm mattress has a 12.5 gauge bonnel spring system. Both Medium and Firm contain generous layers of white fibre, polyester and felt fillings for maximum comfort. The mattress is covered in a plain white luxury Belgian damask fabric and is hand tufted, giving the mattress a clean and crisp look.
